In 1923, teenager Kim Shun-Pei moves from Cheju Island, in South Korea, to Osaka, in Japan. Along the years, he becomes a cruel, greedy and violent man and builds a factory of kamaboko, processed seafood products, in his poor Korean-Japanese community exploiting his employees.

The film tells the tale of a father who can't get along with his sons. Haci Nuri runs a factory with his sons Erol and Metin. However, he pressures them in many areas of their lives. Unable to stand any more of his father's pestering, Erol moves out. After a while, Metin also leaves home to live with his elder brother. But in response, Haci Nuri disowns the two of them.
