Dear Ones is an allegorical story about people who need to make real contact with their family and friends. Piotr is looking for a purpose and order in his life. To find it, he turns to magic, religion, and psychology. Unexpectedly, his father calls him and asks Piotr to come to his family home immediately. Piotr arrives at the same time with his sister, Marta, whom he hardly remembers and does not recognize. The father called for Piotr and Marta because their Mother went missing. Family members who meet for the first time after many years begin to search together. The facts they discover about their mother make them re-define what kind of family they are.

The things that he himself likes, the activities that make him smile, and the people who make him happy. Having realised that, Hannah starts leaving hints for Max, so as to shake him out of the the everyday emptiness and make him focus on what is important.

After being one of the most successful filmmakers in Europe in the sixties, Vojtech Jasny (Czech Republic, 1925) lives in a small apartment in New York. For Jasny, life and cinema are inseparable concepts. By visiting friends who still live in Life and Film Jasny first person will have their own history and some decisive events in his life: the Nazi invasion and subsequent Soviet invasion of Czechoslovakia, exile and his arrival in New York years later.
