Akihabara is a Tokyo district full of manga, anime, electronics, video games, figurines, etc. It is a place that gathers fanatics of such themes, people who are commonly referred to as otaku. Page, Box, Akira, Taiko, Daruma, and Izumu are six otaku each with his/her own troubles and sought relief through a website called "Yui's Lifeguard." When site owner Yui died of a mysterious death, the six who are each experts in their own fields gathered to form "Akihabara@DEEP", a "trouble shooter" group that vows to protect Akihabara and solve the problems of its inhabitants.

Kanzo wo Ubawareta Tsuma

Detective Gido Kennin (Tanaka Kei) specialises in reinvestigations, and is the most shunned and loathed person at the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department. He carries around a name card with no department written on it and takes pleasure in uncovering cases where the police created false charges. Gido reveals the negligence of the police such as mistakes in initial investigations and cover ups, reconsidering the testimonies and evidence from these cases to discover the real criminals. He hates it if people escape punishment and in order to prevent this from happening, he makes all other sacrifices. It is said that no one will be happy after Gido’s investigations, and this has earned him the nickname “grim reaper”.

46 years ago Kurihara Minoru went to the mountains to take pictures, but never returned. Fast forward to the present and he is discovered perfectly preserved in ice. He then miraculously wakes up. The head of the Kurihara household is now Kurihara Norihiko, who is Minoru's son and 52 years old. There are also Minoru's grandson Kensuke and granddaughter Mai. Their family is set for upheaval as their grandfather (who still looks 25, but is now 71) returns to their home.
