After Dr. Patricia Engel experienced a treatment error with a fatal outcome that was also covered up, she gave up her promising career as a doctor and became a lawyer. When she once again comes across a medical error in the clinic of her father, heart specialist Professor Brenner, of all people, she tries everything she can to save the patient. But the surgeon turns against her and sics a lawyer on his daughter.

Ex-con Konrad Kühn smells a quick buck with the sale of a seemingly uninhabited house on the Baltic Sea. He claims to be the sole heir, but someone is living in the supposedly uninhabited house: Clara Mensen. Together with her friend Valeska, she tries everything to prevent the sale. A tall and a small masked man wearing police uniforms driving the local cop car rob 600.000 Euro from a money transport in Eifel town Monreal. Incompetent state inspector Melanie Marschall focuses local police detectives Killmer and Kati Biever, neither of which has an alibi, both had the car keys, even fitting masks where found at Killmer's home. The are suspended, needing to find the -obviously well-informed- real culprits, while precinct colleague Ralf is recruited to spy on them. While Kati's irresponsible grandmother loads further suspicion on them, the cop pair finds several townsfolk and Melanie Marschall in financial need, yet no conclusive clue until a murder raises crucial questions.

The film is based on a true occurrence in Sweden in 1988. A Finnish couple murdered a young boy and his parents when they prevented the theft of the son's bicycle. The film tries to describe the relationship between the dominant Jari, who calls himself "Il Capitano", and his more mature "soldier" Minna, that develops into mutual dependence.

The idyll in tranquil Monreal is deceptive: farmer Jobst lies dead in his cesspit, all the clues point to murder. A case for police superintendent Kati Biver and chief inspector Killmer. The latter, however, is rather distracted. The cool cop is suddenly supposed to be responsible for a baby - his baby! Not with him, Killmer thinks, and comes up with an ingenious idea to solve the care issue. He secretly abandons little Marlon outside the police station. Now his colleague Kati has no choice but to look after the little one...

During the last therapy session for a couple seeking a divorce, the therapist dies in a freak accident. Now Tom and Nina have to get together one last time to get rid of the corpse.

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Magic Flute is undoubtedly one of the most multi-layered, profound, complicated, and therefore also most difficult to stage works in the entire opera repertoire. In terms of genre, it can only be understood if it is seen as a mixture of four things: a philosophically profound drama of ideas with countless encryptions, a naïve fairy tale, a bawdy comedy, and a crude Punch and Judy show. It is based on the intersection of the traditions of Baroque magic opera, Italian buffa, and Viennese Singspiel, where all manner of wonders are conceivable and permissible. Peter Ustinov's production appeals to all those who love a primarily fairy-tale-like interpretation; the atmosphere is traditional and conventional. An outstanding ensemble of singers has been assembled.
