Guiding Light stands as the third longest-running program in all of broadcast history; only the Norwegian children's radio program Lørdagsbarnetimen and the American country music radio program Grand Ole Opry have been on the air longer. On April 1, 2009, it was announced that CBS canceled Guiding Light after a 72-year run due to low ratings. The show taped its final scenes for CBS on August 11, 2009, and its final episode on the network aired on September 18, 2009.

Dickinson's Real Deal is an ITV, UK modern antiques and collectables television programme presented by David Dickinson. It is broadcast on ITV as part of the afternoon schedule, and is repeated on sister channel ITV3. An American version of the show, simply titled Real Deal, was aired for one series on History, produced by Zodiak USA. The elements are the same except that the US show lacks the on-screen host for intervention on the deals.

Series 1 was made by RDF Television for CBBC. Series 2 onwards were produced by Foundation/Freehand for CBBC and ABC Television in Australia. Its fifth series was broadcast in 2011. A sixth series was confirmed and due to air in late 2013. Each series contains a different number of contestants who work in set teams to try to escape the sentient island. The contestants are children who are 11–14 years old. Each series introduces a different number of contestants, new challenges and different storylines.

Mister Maker is a pre-school children's arts and crafts programme commissioned by Michael Carrington at the BBC for CBeebies. The programme launched in 2007 and also airs on BBC One and BBC Two. In the United States and Latin America the show airs on the Discovery Familia network, dubbed in Spanish. To date three series have been commissioned from The Foundation. It also airs in Australia on ABC2. The programme comprises a mixture of animation and real time content, and a spin-off programme Mister Maker Comes to Town began in 2010. Mister Maker is played by Phil Gallagher.

The Hip Hop Years is a three part series of one hour television documentaries, made for Channel 4 in 1999. The series was devised by David Upshal who produced, directed and narrated the series. He also produced the 33-track compilation CD which accompanied the series and co-wrote the book with Alex Ogg, also titled The Hip Hop Years. The series charts the definitive story of Hip Hop, rising from the streets of the Bronx to become, what Upshal calls, "the new Rock'n'Roll".
