Deportation... Russians, Kazakhs, Germans, Ukrainians, Chechens, Crimean Tatars, Koreans, Poles — entire peoples turned out to be outcasts and traitors in the eyes of their state. Tens of thousands of people in the 30-40s of the XX century were torn from their roots and brought to the North Kazakhstan steppes in the vicinity of the city of Akmolinsk.
