Somehow works better than it should... still not a good film, though.

'Mean Girls 2' is a cheap imitation of the original movie, with only a few differences to 2004's 'Mean Girls'. As such, it was always going to be a disappointing watch - and it most certainly is, but does manage to hold some charm to it in fairness.

I found Meaghan Martin and Jennifer Stone to be OK leads, what they perhaps lack in acting conviction is made up for by being fairly likeable. Maiara Walsh is largely hit-and-miss, her character as well as the other two (played by Nicole Gale Anderson and Claire Holt) are hampered by the fact that they are practically (dull) carbon copies of Rachel McAdams & Co. from the first flick.

Personally, I didn't dislike like this all that much if I'm honest. With that said, it can only be described as a poor film. I did appreciate some of the song choices mind you, took me back a bit hearing Iyaz in particular - he did some great songs before vanishing!

Anyway... back on track. For a made-for-television sequel, I pretty much got what I expected from this. I can't imagine anyone truly anticipated anything more, right? That average rating chart says otherwise... 😬

You've reached the end.
