Aishwarya Rai Bachchan (born November 1, 1973) is an Indian actress, former model, and former Miss World. Often cited by the media as one of the most beautiful women in the world, she has also established herself as one of the most popular and influential celebrities in India for her work in Hindi and Tamil films. She has received numerous accolades for her acting, including two Filmfare Awards. In 2009, she was honored with the Padma Shri by the Government of India.
