RTL Samstag Nacht
RTL Samstag Nacht was a comedy show, which ran from 6 November 1993 to 23 May 1998 on the German TV network RTL. RTL Samstag Nacht was the first major comedy show in German television, created after the example of the long-running American show Saturday Night Live and broadcast late on Saturday night. It helped comedy in German television to a breakthrough and was a model for several later comedy shows. Karl Ranseier was a recurring character featured in fake news reports telling about his death at the end of each episode. The name Karl Ranseier has become a catchphrase in Germany that has led to its own joke category of Ranseiers which are in widespread usage outside of the comedy origin.

A soldier runs amok in a school. Military police and SEK take aim at the heavily armed man. Suddenly he is shot dead, but none of the snipers fired the final shot. Inspector Bischof is tasked with finding out who killed the soldier. The soldier was stationed in the very barracks that is under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Ralf Bischof, Kathrin's husband. An officer from the Military Counter-Intelligence Service is assigned to assist her in the investigation. Kathrin bites into the case. She finds out that the dead soldier was taking part in a series of scientific experiments testing methods to prevent anxiety. This research project is being led by her sister Ariane, a renowned psychiatrist. Kathrin's investigation puts her in extreme danger.

The focus of the series is the young doctor Margarete "Gretchen“ Haase, who wants to make a career in a hospital. It was directed by Bora Dağtekin and shown from the June 23, 2008 to February 14 2011 on German television, RTL Television. In Canada, it was shown starting August 31, 2010 on Séries+ television. In France, from June 8, 2011 on TF1 television and starting March 31, 2013 on HD1 television.
