Biography
Astaman (also known as Tirtosari; 1903–1980) was an Indonesian actor active from the 1910s until the mid-1970s. He was a leading actor in the influential theatre company Dardanella and, after entering the film industry with 1940s Kartinah, acted in 43 films.

Elang Darat
Elang Darat, who leads a gang of robbers continuously harasses the village of Kresek. To overcome the security threat, the head of the village calls for assistance from a detective, R. Parlan. During a raid, Parlan is injured, and is nursed by Rukmini, the village head’s daughter. Their closeness prompts jealousy in Gunawi, the adopted son of the village-head. Later, it is revealed that Gunawi is the son of R. Bardan, Parlan’s father. Parlan then must face Gunawi because he is actually the one that people call Elang Darat.

Ratna Moetoe Manikam
Three sisters live above the cloud, Ratna, Laila, and Kumala. Ratna and Kumala are in dispute after they fall in love with the same man, Sultan Darsyah Alam. Kumala is turned down by Darsyah and in anger, she orders the destruction of his kingdom. Laila overhears this scheme and informs Ratna about it. Ratna then asks Bathara Guru for advice and is told that this is a trial for Darsyah who is destined to be together with her. Darsyah owns a powerful ring that is also named Ratna hence this disaster can be averted.

Berdjoang
Anang, Saman and Ahmad are three best friends from a village in Subang. Anang and Ahmad fall in love with Saman's sister, Hasanah. When the call for enrollment in Heiho (army troops formed by Japanese) is announced, Anang and Saman register themselves but Ahmad does not. Anang is accepted as a soldier. When the village people welcome the Heiho, Ahmad commits theft. Hasanah's heart leans more and more towards Anang, and she yearns for his return.

Satria Desa
Kasim, a rich man lives by lending money by collecting taxes from the residents in his place, most of whom are farmers. In addition, Kasim also opened an illegal gambling place disguised as a coffee shop. As an attraction, the shop provided dancers and singers. In this way, many farmers, especially young people, were forced to borrow money from Kasim and most of the money they used to gamble which eventually returned to Kasim.

Tarmina
Tarmina is a selfish wife. She asks Hadi for a divorce after he goes bankrupt. She leaves him and daughter, Juriah, and remarries a tycoon. One day, the second husband has an accident near where Hadi is standing. Tarmina accuses Hadi of causing the accident. When the second husband learns about Tarmina's unkind nature, he divorces her. Then Tarmina marries a third time with a restaurant owner, but not long after, she divorces again. When Hadi is released from jail, he returns to a happy life with his daughter. In desperation, Tarmina tries to return to them. But she realizes that she has committed so many wrongs to her husband and child. Instead, she ends her life by plunging into the river.

Saputangan
Hardjono gives a handkerchief to his girlfriend, Karnasih, as a token of love. During their holiday together, Karnasih experiences an accident and becomes blind. Hardjono then goes abroad to study eye medicine. Upon his return, he conducts a surgery on his girlfriend's eyes and succeeds.

Sepandjang Malioboro
Hartoyo and Sanusi, who had been friends since they were TNI, registered themselves as development soldiers to be sent to Harapan Island. Sanusi's younger sister, Aesah, was Hartoyo's girlfriend. Sanusi's mother passed away and then Sanusi also passed away. This made Aesah like someone who had lost her memory, wandering "along Malioboro". Luckily Hartono returned and looked for Aesah.
