Based on the 2010 film The Encounter and its 2012 sequel Paradise Lost, the series—which ran for two eight-episode seasons from 2016 to 2020—features Bruce Marchiano reprising his role as Jesus Christ (aka The Man), who comes to the aid of various individuals in real, relatable scenarios.
