After three months of secret marriage to his wife Helga, Stefan Gregor, propagandist for a record company, is already back in front of the divorce judge. His profession is to blame, as it has brought him into disrepute with his wife. It is the nightly negotiations with the artists in his friend Alfred's bar over champagne and wine - and he is already accused of infidelity. But he is no different with Helga, because as soon as she has become rich through a secret lottery win, her lifestyle makes him just as suspicious and jealous. But when he discovers that she has become a singing star, he is proud of her and she finally realizes what "sacrifices" his profession entails.

The old and eccentric Ebenezer Scrooge is a misanthrope and miser. His only friend was his business partner Jacob Marley, who died on Christmas Eve seven years earlier. Since then, Ebenezer has been running the business alone. Christmas is just around the corner again, an abomination for the hard-hearted misanthrope. So he not only rejects his nephew Fred, who invites him to Christmas dinner, but also everyone who asks for alms. When Mr. Scrooge comes home on Christmas Eve, he is astonished to find Jacob Marley, his deceased business partner, waiting for him. He is not the only guest; three more ghosts follow. A night that Ebenezer will never forget lies ahead of him.

After 50 years of service, the district usher Johann Peter Neusigl is supposed to get awarded a Royal-Bavarian medal of merit. Since government director Steinbeißl has announced that he wants to witness the awarding ceremony in person, district magistrate Kranzeder decided to splash out. He organises, with his wife Amalie, a banquet in their parlour, although both of them rather begrudge Neusigl the award. But after all, it is necessary to cut a good figure for the dignitaries. As the government director arrives, after a few incidents during his journey, belated, the event, however, has already degenerated into a boozy carousal which culminates in a scuffle.
