Set in the 1990s, the series follows the disappearance of a local teenager, Stella, which reopens old wounds for Clémence Rosier, the last CEO of the MTLK factory before it closed down. Her son Benjamin's unsolved death two years prior is now tied to the case, and Clémence is forced to team up with Antonio D’Ambrosio, a factory worker long suspected of being involved in her son’s death. The duo must decode a mysterious book written by the two children, uncovering secrets that threaten to destroy the fragile community.

Shut in a bare interrogation chamber, Domé faces dehumanizing treatment from accusers, firmly answering the same questions over and over. While left on her own, she can hear cries coming from the next room. Trying to stave off deportation, Domé asks to use the bathroom. There, she carries out a traditional ritual—one which could cost her her life, or give her a chance at a new one. YOU WILL BE MY ALLY is an early work of Rosine Mbakam’s that already shows the themes which have come to inform the award-winning filmmaker’s career.

Put on “mute” after having used up the speaking time allotted to the female* characters of a film, she runs away with her buddy Voice Over, starting out on a new journey. All in good fun.
