Based on historical facts, the film portrays the largest slave rebellion in Brazilian history, the Malê Revolt. The uprising mobilized the black population in the streets of Salvador against slavery in 1835. After the failure of the revolt, the protesters were harshly punished and repression against black people in Brazil increased.

Velho Chico

Along the Way
To escape past traumas, a truck driver João decides to leave his hometown behind and travel cross the country. Alone and lonely he drives all over Brazil until João discovers hiding in his truck a motherless boy looking for his father. Reluctantly, João agrees to take the boy to the nearest town and, during the trip, he finally finds the courage to face his past.

Gabriela

Rebirth
After making a pact with Jequitibá, José Inocêncio becomes a mythical figure, known as the most successful cocoa farmer in the region. While still young, he wins the heart of Maria Santa. Their intense passion results in four children: José Augusto, José Bento, José Venâncio, and the youngest, João Pedro, who never had the opportunity to know his mother, as she dies while giving birth to him. This tragedy fuels José Inocêncio’s anger, blaming João Pedro for the loss of his great love. Throughout their lives, indifference and resentment mark the relationship between the father and his youngest son. As if the past weren’t enough, years later, the arrival of the mysterious Mariana puts all these emotions to the test when both father and son fall in love with the same woman. This situation reawakens feelings that were either dormant or previously unknown to them.

Captains of the Sands
About the life and adventures of a gang of abandoned street kids known as "Capitães da Areia" (Captains of the Sands), in Salvador, Bahia, during the 1950s.

The Awakener
Miguel is a federal agent, highly trained and skilled in weapons. After experiencing trauma in his personal life, he sets out on a journey of revenge, assuming the identity of a masked vigilante. The Awakener decides to do justice with his own hands by exterminating corrupt politicians.

Òrun Àiyé: A Criação do Mundo
Òrun Áiyé shows the journey of Oxalá (Carlinhos Brown) to fulfill his mission, the creation of the world. The animation will be narrated by the griot figure, represented through the historian, Ubiratan Castro (1948-2013), affectionately called Bira (Carlos Betão), who will lead the discovery of his granddaughter, Luna (Fernanda Crescencio), to the living memory that is the African continent. The gods Orunmila (Jorge Washighton), Oduduwa (Fábio Santana), Exú and Nanã will play a fundamental role in the outcome of this story.
