Baía de Luanda

Pérola (39 years), a female lawyer, return to Angola, for her younger sister´s “Alambamento” (traditional Angolan ceremony where dowries and promises are exchanged between a couple) more than 20 years living abroad. On coming back, she realises that she does not fit in that environment anymore. The world that saw her come to life is now uncomfortable. In the beginning, she remains apart, watching all her parents do and say in a judgmental way, but as the party unfolds, Pérola starts to see the beauty of the place. That land and it´s People reveal a charm that she was not expecting and suddenly she understands that all her loneliness and emptiness she has felt all those years was only her home beckoning her back.

New Beginning

Álvaro and Maria do Carmo lived happily in Angola. He was a successful businessman and she was a mild mannered housewife. They have two children together, Ana and João, who were studying and living their teenage years in Luanda... Until the day the civil war broke out and everything fell apart. Amidst declarations of independence, a wave of violence breaks out and the established peace and order fades away. In July, 1975, the Mendonça family, along with over five hundred thousand people, leave their belongings behind and embark on an air convoy that would become the biggest exodus in the history of the Portuguese people to a homeland that most only knew from photos and dubbed it Metropolis. In Lisbon, Joaquim and Natália, Álvaro’s brother-in-law and sister, take the Mendonça family in their small apartment, where they will try to get their lives back in order. However, over that hot summer of 1975, the integration seemed to be far from easy.

An Outpost of Progress

At the end of the nineteenth century, two inexperienced Portuguese colonizers, with a vague intention of civilizing the colonies, disembark in a remote part of the Congo River in order to coordinate a trading post. As time goes by, they become increasingly demoralized by their inability to profit from the ivory trade. A mutual feeling of distrust and misunderstadings with the locals isolate them at the heart of the tropical jungle. Faced with each other, they begin a journey towards the abyss.

Life Is Life

Ana Margarida Rosa Lobo, a 70-year-old actress at the end of her career, discovers she has Alzheimer's and without explaining to anyone, she decides to end her five-decade marriage with Sérgio and move to another house to enjoy her lucidity while she can. This decision causes an upheaval in the professional and personal lives of her four daughters. Faced with this situation, the family will be tested to the limit and the four women change their way of looking at life, questioning their love relationships that they have also built.

Hotel Amor

When the hotel where workaholic Catarina works is sold, she needs to show her skills to manage unprofessional staff, look after eccentric guests and deal with ghosts from the past, which are brought back by the visit of an unexpected friend.

The Child

The story takes place near Lisbon, in the mid-16th century. Bela, an adopted young man, tries to find his place in a family that is free, but trapped in a world where each shadow allows imperfections to shine through.
