Biography
Despina Nikolaidou (Greek: Δέσποινα Νικολαΐδου, 1934 – 16 February 2023) was a Greek stage and film actress. She graduated from the Drama School of the National Theatre. She participated in films of the golden age of Greek cinema, in television series and in radio broadcasts. Characteristic were the roles of Roula Gravani, a close friend of Lisa Petrovasi, in the film Heartbeats at the Desk (1963) and Mary in Modern Cinderella (1965). Her husband was also the actor Giorgos Moutsios, with whom they formed their own troupe in 1977. She died on 16 February 2023, at the age of 89

Anguish

Throbs at the Desk
Lisa is a student, pretending the sick not to go to school. Her parents are worried about her health and call the doctor to examine her. He realizes her lies but he covers her. Soon, they fall in love and eventually get married. However, after the honeymoon she begins to yearn school and her classmates and she returns to it without saying anything to her husband. Soon, her husband begins to suspect her because of her frequent absences from home and her secret meetings with the professor seem to confirm his suspicions.

Krystallo
A wealthy and ruthless landowner, Kitsos Mavromitsos, oppresses an entire region and uses his money to buy people and consciences. He feels omnipotent, but a poor young man, Lambros, who is in love with the beautiful Krystallo, stands up for himself and demands what is rightfully his. Kitsos asks for Krystallo's hand from her father, Barba-Chronis, who agrees to make him his son-in-law, but ignores the fact that his daughter loves Lambros. Kitsos then kills Barba-Chronis and pins the murder on Lambros. While Lambros rots in prison, Kitsos seizes the opportunity to marry Krystallo. However, Lambros escapes from prison and returns to the village, revealing the truth. Kitsos gets the punishment he deserves, as he is accidentally killed by his own brother.

The uncrowned
Petros (Georgos Kambanellis), son of the factory owner Tsamis (Lavrentis Dianellos), is in love with his father's worker Martha (Martha Vourtsi). However, before they can get married, Tsamis' intrigues and scheming lead the relationship to a shipwreck and Petros marries the rich woman approved by his family. Ultimately, however, Tsamis regrets his attitude. Thus, the young couple unite their destinies and live happily ever after.
