The Comic Strip Presents...

The Comic Strip is a group of British comedians, who came to prominence in the 1980s. They are known for their television series The Comic Strip Presents... which was labelled as an example of alternative comedy. UB40 - The Collection

Over the course of more than two decades, Birmingham's UB40 have become global ambassadors for reggae, a journey captured perfectly on The Collection. This programme is split into two main sections: a 26-track video collection and a documentary detailing their 20th anniversary concert in September 2001. Forgoing chronology in favour of a more random approach, the video selection is slightly disjointed on a visual level, leaping from decade to decade within the space of a couple of tracks. While they have never made a truly great video (most feature the band lip-synching in various places around the world) UB40 have certainly been prolific over the years. "One In Ten" and "Food for Thought", their earliest work, represented the sound of young, multicultural Britain just as well as the more lauded Specials. And while there have perhaps been a few too many covers in recent times, it is hard to deny the effectiveness of "Red, Red Wine" and "Kingston Town".

UB40: Live At Montreux 2002

UB40 are one of the most successful British acts of all time, with a huge string of hits on both sides of the Atlantic and around the globe. Featuring most of their greatest hits, including both songs to hit #1 in America: "Red, Red Wine" and "Can't Help Falling In Love". UB40 - Live At Rockpalast 1981

This performance was filmed on July 19, 1981, at the Sartory-Saal in Cologne, Germany, as part of the WDR Rockpalast television series. While unofficially titled At Rockpalast, it was later released on DVD in 2004, featuring multi-camera footage in PAL format and PCM stereo/Dolby audio. The band’s lineup at the time included founding members Ali Campbell (vocals, guitar), Robin Campbell (guitar, backing vocals), Earl Falconer (bass), Jimmy Brown (drums), Norman Hassan (percussion), Brian Travers (saxophone), among others.
