Biography
Endel Simmermann (until 1939 Zimmermann, November 19, 1924 Paide – August 14, 2007) was an Estonian actor. Graduated from Paide Elementary School in 1940 and in 1944 in Tallinn Railway School. He studied in the Estonian studio of GITIS from 1950 to 1951. From 1947 to 1948 he worked at the Narva Theater (Paide), 1948-1953 (with a break) in Endla, 1953-1954 at Rakvere Theater, 1954-1958 in Vanemuine, 1958-1970 in the Estonian Drama Theater and 1970-1987 at the Estonian Theater. Endel Simmermann has also been a director of artistic example.

Fire in the Night
Ülo and Olev think the German occupation is humiliating and the soldiers are arrogant. But even among Estonians there are people who cannot be trusted - this can have fatal consequences. Witty schoolboys find out that Mr Velirand, who has moved in the apartment that once belonged to their teacher, is a henchman of Fascists. The boys make up their minds to give people warning about the provocator, even if the rebellion is risky and their opponent superior, as it had been in the St George's Night Uprising in 1343.

Here We Are

The Gang

Naughty Curves
When Vaike, a student and athlete from Tartu, arrives to Pirita-Kose-Kloostrimetsa speedway, the bikes are already racing with dizzying speeds. The same dizzying adventures will be ahead, when Vaike meets multiple-times champion Raivo, who has been dizzied with sports progress and young ladies, and with champion candidate Heino, who helps Vaike to prepare for competition. Vaike cannot “hold her horses” alone and counts for her sister Maret, who also in past have had helped her out from similar difficult situations. But this time also comes into play Maret’s fresh husband Ants, who is convinced that he no more mix up the twin sisters.

I'm Not a Tourist, I Live Here
The film is about one of the greatest social hot spots in Estonia during the Soviet times when apartments were distributed by the state, telling the story of a real estate agent and a homeless man. Mass immigration in 1944-1988 led to demographic conflict. Free apartments were mainly given to immigrants despite the fact that local people badly needed places of residence as well. They are not tourists, they live here, but they haven't got a home.

Dangerous Curves
A romantic comedy about two rival motorcyclists who are in love with two twin sisters. It is a remake of the 1959 film Naughty Curves and was the first film shot in the Soviet-designed Kinopanorama format.

In One Hundred Years in May
Viktor Kingissepp has been the underground head of the Communist Party of Estonia for three years. He corresponds with Moscow, writes speeches for the members of the Communist Workers' Party and makes leaflets for the events of trade union. His purpose is to overthrow the Republic of Estonia since he does not believe in Estonian independence nor in any national ideals. Yet the clock keeps ticking, tuberculosis spreads rapidly, the world revolution is being postponed. What to do in order to make one's efforts work?
