Micheline Bertier is as wise as she is graceful, and is the perfect assistant to her boss, couturier Maurice Darnal. Darnal's business is faltering and he has to close down. Micheline's family is also in trouble. Her crazy-headed sister is about to steal her fiancé away from her. At the suggestion of singer Jacqueline François, Micheline goes on tour as an accompanist, and meets up with Darnal in Nice, full of projects he wants to involve her in. Behind the Facade
In the elevator of two large Parisian buildings, a telegraph operator discovers the body of an elderly woman, Madame Mathieu, the owner of both buildings. To solve the enigma, they scour staircases and corridors, visiting every floor of both buildings, courtyard and facade. Their gruff rivalry allows them to complement each other in discovering who committed the crime among a gallery of characters, humble or rich, who all have something to be ashamed of... A rare, fast-paced, picturesque comedy set against the backdrop of a police mystery.

L'assassin connaît la musique
