Midwife Ella runs the best maternity ward in Denmark. The close-knit team goes about their work with conviction and fine ideals, but all too often the mental and physical strain pushes them to their personal limits.

Luis and her mother Christel are stunned when matriarch Vivi arrives unannounced for the holidays. The three women clash under one roof as secrets are revealed - and ultimately must decide if they will stay divided or finally come together.

The Orchestra

Jeppe Nygren takes over as deputy conductor of the Copenhagen Symphony Orchestra and is warmly welcomed by his new conductor, who speaks candidly about the musicians' peculiarities and olates. The conflict-ridden Jeppe quickly gets an example of these olates and happens to give the embittered second clarinetist Bo with a cursed promise of a solo part. But it has far-reaching consequences.

Chorus Girls

In the mid-70s, eight young female dancers struggle to make ends meet in a sexist workplace. However, they discover strength in unity and the bravery to oppose and alter one's circumstances during a turbulent summer.
