Fausto and Elena, two deaf teenagers from different backgrounds, meet and fall in love. As they push back against prejudice and silence – both societal and familial – their bond becomes a source of strength. Together, they navigate a world that misunderstands them and find the will to dream beyond imposed limits.

The Cesaronis

Giulio is a widower, struggling to raise three sons, Marco, Rudi, and Mimmo, as best he can. He lives in Rome's working-class Garbatella neighborhood and runs a wine shop with his two brothers. Lucia, meanwhile, comes from Milan's middle-class background; she's divorced and trying to rebuild her life with her two daughters, Eva and Alice. The two meet by chance and recognize each other: they had a fling as teenagers, many years earlier. Yet first love is never forgotten, and so Giulio and Lucia find themselves together again. Their meeting, however, changes not only the lives of a man and a woman, but also those of two families as different as could be. Two families who find themselves living under the same roof without even having had the time to get to know each other well.

Teo, a student in Astrophysics, shares an apartment with his girlfriend, Carla, who is also a student. One evening, while he is absent-mindedly crossing the road, he is knocked down by a car. At the wheel of the car is Mavi, a girl originally from Spalato, who came to Italy with her father when she was a little girl. Teo is lying on the ground, injured, and Mavi helps him, before disappearing without a trace. The two characters meet again by chance some time later and a strong and deep bond forms between them.

Sebastian Brody is a profiler who works for the FBI. When his wife is killed before his eyes by a serial killer who has escaped from prison, whom he had brought to justice some time before, he leaves everything behind and moves to Sicily. One night, due to a strong storm, the electricity goes out. Sebastian goes into the shed to try to start the generator but, in the darkness, he trips over a cable on the ground, pulling down a metal shelf. He discovers a hidden niche in the wall containing a box with six female scalps inside.The scalps belong to a serial killer who killed in the area twenty-five years earlier, nicknamed "the Hairdresser" by the press. The ones found by Sebastian would be his trophies. The killer was never caught and now seems to have returned to strike.
