Season

Season is a 1989 Malayalam-language Indian feature film directed Padmarajan, starring Mohanlal and Gavin Packard in lead roles. The film, though a failure at the box office, stands apart because of Padmarajan's story-telling style, unconventional plot and characters, realistic portrayal of drug trade in Kovalam and flawless performance of Mohanlal and is considered now as a cult classic. The story is set in the beautiful locales of Kovalam beach in Kerala and Poojappura Central Prison, Trivandrum. In spite of the film's commercial failure at the time, Season is now considered to be amongst the best revenge thriller classics ever made in Malayalam and Mohanlal's performance in the movie stands apart because of his unconventional style of acting in such a complex plot. The film also showed how narration can be used as a strong tool in storytelling. Many feel that this movie was much ahead of time and if it would have released in late nineties, would have done good business.

Deedar

Anand Malhotra, the only son of a very wealthy industrialist, Kailanshnath Malhotra is in love with the only daughter of a widowed schoolteacher, Gayetri Saxena, whose name is Sapna Saxena. His mom and dad find out about his romance, and decide to get him married to her. On the day of the engagement, Gayetri and Sapna lock their door and spend the week elsewhere. Kailashnath and his wife are outraged by this humiliation and swear never to marry their son to Sapna. Anand is perplexed at this, and attempts to find from Gayetri, as to her refusal, but Gayetri refuses to tell him anything. Anand knows that Sapna loves him, and is determined to find out why their marriage is not possible. Little does he know that by doing so, he could be challenging Gayetri's widowhood, as well as putting his dad and his business in jeopardy.

Hulchul

A troubled ACP adopts a young poor child named Deva whose mother and father died. When he grows up, he helps his adopted father as a police officer and ACP to solve various crimes around town to save his job and protect his family. Deva should not only help his father by tracking down a mob or fight gang members, but he has to release his half-brother Karan from police custody after he is framed for murder.

Cheetah

An honest and diligent inspector is murdered with his family. However, he survives the attack and is in coma for a while. When he exits coma, he takes revenge by murdering the villains one by one to avenge his loved ones who died at the hands of the villains.

Aryan

Aryan movie is all about Devanarayan (Mohanlal) who is a Brahmin priest who is falsely accused of theft and forced to leave his village in Kerala. He moves to Bombay where he gets drawn into the underworld through an ageing don Kareem (Goga Kapoor). Some interesting comment initially on Brahmin priesthood in Kerala, but halfway through the film goes haywire.

Aanaval Mothiram

James (Sreenivasan) is an average police officer, apathetic towards his job and only in it for his monthly salary. Due to a misunderstanding during a blood test at a laboratory, he believes that he has a fatal disease and is about to die soon. He eyes the insurance payout his family would get if he dies in action and embarks on impossible missions to get himself killed in action.
