The Blind Man of Jerusalem

A rich man, living in a splendid palace, in the city of Jerusalem, with his daughter and many servants, surrounded by every possible luxury, but blind, is healed of his affliction by Christ. Having regained his sight he does not make this known to his household, but quietly observes them for a time and sees how his servants rob him and even his daughter imposes upon him. Discouraged at his findings he goes out upon the highway where he again meets Christ, but this time He is carrying His cross and being led to Calvary. The sight of the suffering Savior teaches him to forgive his offenders.

The goddess Minerva is jealous of the young Arachne who is more clever it in weaving. Out of spite, Arachne Minerva rushed into hell, then transforms into a spider that will forever spinning its web.

L'enfant prodigue

Cécile Guyon is young Pierrot. He has fallen in love with the laundress, pretty Jane Renouardt. However, she wants more than a lover whose poor fashion sense impels him to dress as a stage clown. She wants jewelry, pretty clothes, and probably a string of poloponies, so Guyon robs his parents' safe and steals their life savings so he can run off with Mlle Renouardt.

Crowns, I: The Crown of Roses

Framed in a wreath of roses we see a lithe Creek dancer, who sways and postures before an epicurean party of ancients, followed by a laurel wreath and encircling a scene showing school children of 1830 receiving their marks of diligence at a distribution of rewards: then the wreath of bay tendered by the Human Senators to Caesar on the culmination of his career; now a beggar receives a loaf called a "crown" from a charitable passerby: Christ is shown crowned with thorns by the rabble; following the divine drama we see the old comedian's wreath presented him at a performance. The next view shows the Emperor Charlemagne crowning his son Lewis. The film closes with the wreath of orange blossoms encircling a bridal party.

Les Trois masques

The son of the wealthy Signor Della Corba loves one of his maids. Her brothers and father rebel at the idea of this union. But the girl is pregnant, and after the birth of the child, Della Corba's son decides to kidnap his mistress on Carnival Day. The brothers, having caught wind of the plan, kill him, then, in disguise, take him masked to his father's house, passing him off as a drunken friend. At dawn, Della Corba discovers her lifeless son under the mask. The maid having died in the meantime, he takes the child in and adopts him.

The Memory of the Heart

In the middle school, the pawn Paul Watrin spends his sad life, in the middle of a people of cheeky and mocking kids for whom he is the enemy, the whipping boy. Only Pierre Launay, a studious child with a pitiful heart, defends the old pawn and his son against the incessant attacks of this cloud of pranksters and his affection consoles the poor man for his daily miseries. However, a drama unfolds in the child's family.
