Biography
Gina Chiarelli is a Canadian actress. Most associated with stage roles in Vancouver, British Columbia, she received a Genie Award nomination as Best Actress at the 26th Genie Awards in 2006 for her performance in the film See Grace Fly. Chiarelli was raised in East Africa while her parents were working as missionaries. She moved to Ontario at age 11 and later attended a boarding school. She graduated from the New School of Drama in Toronto and moved to Vancouver in 1989. As a stage actress, Chiarelli won a Jessie Richardson Theatre Award in 1999 for her performance in Agnes of God, in 2006 for The Diary of Anne Frank, and in 2013 for Master Class. She has also had recurring roles in the television series Cold Squad, Da Vinci's Inquest and The Dead Zone, and appeared in the films Noroc, Deadly Little Secrets and Numb.

Cold Squad
Cold Squad is a Canadian police procedural television series first broadcast in 1998 that followed the investigations of a part of the Vancouver Police Department Homicide Division tasked with solving cold cases, the titular Cold Squad, as led by Sergeant Ali McCormick. The cast of Cold Squad was diverse and changing, McCormick being the only character to appear in all 7 seasons. Some notable series regulars include Detective Tony Logozzo in seasons 1-2, Sgt. Frank Coscarella in seasons 3-4, Sgt. Len Harper in seasons 5-7, Insp. Vince Schneider season 1, Insp. Simon Ross season 2, Insp. Andrew Pawlachuk seasons 3-7, Det. Mickey Kollander seasons 3-6, Det. The Miracle of the Cards
"The Miracle of the Cards" is based on the true story of Marion Shergold and her son, Craig, an eight-year-old English boy who had a brain tumor. Several events convinced Marion that God was leading her to a cure for Craig and that the get-well cards he was receiving had the power to keep him alive, so she launched a worldwide campaign to break the Guinness record for receiving the most get-well cards. At the time, the world record seemed an impossible 1,000,265, but Craig received over 350 million cards from all over the world. Against the advice of her doctors, Marion followed one of those cards to America for Craig's miraculous cure.
