Dirty Hands
The story is set in Illyria, fictional central European country, towards the end of World War II. A young man infiltrates into the house of a left-wing politician as his secretary. By order of the Communist party, the young man has to kill the politician, who is suspected of a strategy of compromise with other parties.

Lord of the Ants
Based on true events of the late 60s in Italy, poet, playwright and myrmecologist Aldo Braibanti is prosecuted and sentenced to prison for the love he shares with his barely-of-age pupil and friend, Ettore. The Assessment
It is the story of the meeting of two men, presumed childhood friends, of which one remembers every detail, with nostalgia and perhaps resentment, while the other pretends to remember only because he is distressed by a tax assessment and his friend is a tax official. Metaphor of two opposite ways of looking at one's roots, which one cannot free oneself from without risking losing one's identity.

Unknown Soldier
In 1943, a group of Italian and Allied soldiers find themselves trapped inside an abandoned villa. When they discover that they are in fact dead and that the villa is the starting point of their journey into afterlife, each character tells his life story, united in the belief that they have died unjustly in a senseless war. The youngest, whose wife is expecting a child, wants to return to the world.
