Królowa Przedmieścia
Mania is the illegitimate child of a girl from the suburbs of Krakow and a lawyer. Bowing to the will of the family, he abandons the girl, leaving a large monetary "compensation". The girl dies, but before she dies she leaves a certain Mr. Majcherek a letter and a document, proving that Mania will be able to receive the money when she comes of age. The dishonest Majcherek (knowing the contents of the letter) must therefore wait 20 years to be able to apply for Mania's hand and thus come into possession of her property. Unaware of anything, Mania lives in the suburbs with Maciejowa (who took her in as a child) thinking that she is her daughter. When Majcherek begins to adore Mania it turns out that she already has two rivals - boys from the neighborhood. That's when the fourth one appears - handsome Zygmunt. Mania loses her head for Zygmunt. What she doesn't know is that he is in fact her real father's upbringing....

A story about a misunderstanding between a hairdresser and world renowned hockey player, due to coincidence, switching their jobs.

Anybody Can Love
Poor musician Alojzy Kędziorek is in love with Sagankiewicz's daughter Renata, who is reciprocated, but her family wants to marry her off to the wealthy butcher Baleron. Hipek, Alojzy's friend, sells his song to the theater director. The song becomes a huge hit. Alojzy is mistakenly locked up in a newly opened psychiatric hospital. He manages to escape. He goes to the theater where his song is being sung. He receives thunderous applause and an order for new songs. Renata's family agrees to her marriage to Kędziorek.

Granica
Zenon Ziembiewicz comes back to his hometown after graduating from the university in Paris. He gets entangled in a love triangle with educated young lady Elzbieta and a common country girl Justyna who gets pregnant.

Subiekt Jurek accidentally ends up at a ball held in the salons of the bankrupt industrialist Porecki. He is taken for Chelmonski's counselor. Ania's parents want to marry her off to the rich Kracht, who turns out to be a hoaxer. Jurek, who is in love with Ania with reciprocity, exposes him. The director of the department store gives Jurek five times his salary. Jurek soon becomes the Poreckis' son-in-law.
