Biography
Hong Ling was discovered through a local talent search programme Hey Gorgeous. The programme scouts for good-looking younger people with star quality in schools across Singapore. Hong Ling emerged as one of the semi-finalists. A demure young lady, Hong Ling speaks in a gentle demeanour and is always well composed. After completing her acting classes, Hong Ling was given the opportunity to hone her acting skills with roles in Against The Tide and You Can Be An Angel Too. Proving her mettle in acting, she landed a main role in Channel 8 long form drama “118”. In the 270-episode drama that premiered in 2014, Hong Ling also secured the 1st female lead role in Home Truly in 2017; challenging the role of a simple countryside girl from the rural area of Thailand, acting against love interest Pierre Png (Best Actor for Star Awards and Asian Television Award). She stole the limelight at Star Awards 2015, when she beat other female finalists and won the Tokyo Bust Express Sexy Babe Award. Undoubtedly there will be more to come from this beauty in the near future. In 2020, she had her first breakthrough role as a single mother in a blockbuster My Guardian Angels, acting alongside our lead actresses Zoe Tay and Kym Ng. Come 2021, she received her first Top 10 Most Popular Female Award at Star Awards.

Hong Daming is a positive and generous man. As his coffee shop and house number are both "118", the people around him gave him the nickname of "118" (or 要要发), much to his delight. Together with his wife, Liu Meimei, he makes a living by running the coffee-shop, and are well known in Tiong Bahru. Whenever someone is in need, they would always seek Daming for help. His family lives in a 3-room flat, which was built in pre-war years, above the coffee shop. He has 4 children. The children are named Hong Shunfeng, Hong Shunshui, Hong Jinzhi and Hong Yuye. Having 6 people living in a 3-room flat is cramped-up enough, yet he also rents out a room to "Ah Niang", a middle-aged man whose original name is Li Weiliang. Weiliang studied fashion design in France, but circumstances led him to simply run a stall in 118's coffee-shop, selling dumplings with the recipe that his mother left for him.

This story follows the life of a group of nurses as they take on their challenging routines with professionalism and pride. Wang Ruojun is an experienced nurse who saved Liu You Le from an accident. You Le is grateful towards Ruojun and this incident inspires her to be a nurse. Though successful in her career, Ruojun faced marital woes. Her husband of many years cheated on her and even has a love child outside. The story starts in Dakota Crescent, an old estate which is going to be reclaimed by the authorities for redevelopment. The story centres around three protagonists living in Dakota Crescent, Zhou Fa Da, Ye Xiao Ying and Zhang Wei Xiong. Big Brother Fa Da, Wei Xiong and Xiao Ying are the three musketeers of the neighborhood, people often refer to them as "The Heroes". Within ten years, Wei Xiong has become a capable lawyer, Xiao Ying now has a wife. During these ten years, Big brother left Dakota Crescent without a word. Nobody knows of his whereabouts, not even Wei Xiong. This led the neighbours into making wild speculations about his disappearance. Some said he was involved in a kidnapping case, other said that he was in prison. Ten years later, Big brother is finally back. He still retains his strong sense of justice and is prone to impulsiveness, hence turning the neighborhood upside down. However, he refuses to reveal the reasons behind his disappearance.

Set in the 1940s and then the modern world, this drama pits the traditional way against the modern. The story evolves around a popular traditional pastry shop called Xiji. Lian Wending, who is the only heir and has a gift in making pastries, is in love with a travelling songstress, Lin Xiaomei. But his father objects to the relationship and arranges for Wending to marry a rich merchant's daughter, Sun Xiulan. Bound by tradition, he accedes to his father's wish. On Mid-Autumn night, he falls into a well and loses his consciousness. When he wakes up, he is shocked to find himself in modern Singapore. He gets to know two brothers, who are his descendants. Xiji in the modern world is, unfortunately, facing a business crisis and Wending tries his best to save it. In the process, he meets his westernised rival, She Meiren, who looks exactly like Xiaomei but with a different personality. In the battle between modern and traditional ways, both of them fall in love with each other.

Zhong Da Tian owns a calefare agency which engages extras for various drama productions. Today’s shoot involves a military ambush on field. The Assistant Director (AD), Jeremy demands for twenty young lads to show up in three hours’ time. In a scurry, Da Tian rushes to the broadcasting station to get help. The story centres round the inhabitants of small neighbourhood who work in an enrichment school and a minimart. From ex-criminal to middle-aged workers who lost their jobs to technology, and elderlies with a seemingly disillusioned life, can there still be hopes and dreams for these everyday folks who live at the edge of society ? A light-hearted drama bursting with colourful characters, watch how Zhong Ling the founder of Hope Training Centre, and Hong Da Cai the boss of ‘Tian Tian Lai’ minimart, deal with every day situation and at the same time manage their own love life.

Qi Hua, Wang Qi and Ke Long are childhood friends, although fast approaching their mid-fifties, they still kept the promise of cycling together to catch the sunrise on each other's birthday.
