In the village where Samad lives, the "Fighting Illiteracy" organization organizes a literacy class for the elderly to teach them literacy skills. In order to trap a group of smugglers, the head of the police force arranges a "politics" and sends one of the smugglers he has arrested to the class. The smuggler's friends, who have learned of the presence of their accomplice in the class, try to escape him, unaware of the trap that has been set for them.
