Biography

Janet Julian is an American former actress best known for her work on television and in genre films during the late 1970s through the early 1990s. She began her acting career in the early 1970s, appearing on shows such as Alias Smith and Jones before landing one of her breakout roles as Nancy Drew in The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries when she replaced Pamela Sue Martin in 1978. Around the same time she also appeared as Lt. Brie on Battlestar Galactica and as Tommy on the cult series B.J. and the Bear. Julian made guest appearances on a range of popular TV series including Knight Rider, Simon & Simon, Columbo, Swamp Thing, Murder, She Wrote and Diagnosis: Murder. In film, she had roles in the 1978 surf drama Big Wednesday and genre favorites like the slasher Humongous (1982), the crime thriller Fear City (1984), and the acclaimed Abel Ferrara picture King of New York (1990).
