Joaquín Jordá was a Spanish film director, screenwriter and translator. He belongs to the School of Barcelona where he stands out for his film Dante is Not Only Severe (1967) directed together with Jacinto Esteva. He is also recognized for his documentary film work.

Más allá del espejo
Beyond the mirror it is a documentary film that tries to get in the world of the agnosias and the alexias, cerebral diseases that carry substantial differences at the moment of perceiving it that we are called "a" 'reality'. The beginning of all this history is an article that appeared in the counter front page of the newspaper El País. Monkeys Like Becky
The first part of this documentary deals with the Portuguese neurologist António Egas Moniz, Nobel Prize for Medicine in 1949, one of the first surgeons to apply the technique called lobotomy for the treatment of schizophrenia. The second part deals with the everyday life of people with schizophrenia today: behavior and relationships, and treatment for the disease.
La doble vida del faquir
La doble vida del faquir (The magicians) returns to the scene of a school in the Catalan town of Sant Julià de Vilatorta where, in 1937, in the midst of civil war, a film-maker in hiding and a group of orphaned children dressed up as sultans and explorers shot an exotic adventure film. The films protagonists relive those childhood days when they were able to switch their school smocks for oriental turbans, while reality imposed its own fancy dress ball with military uniforms and priests dressed in civilian garb.
Dante Is Not Only Severe
A woman uselessly insists on entertaining a man by telling him stories that don’t interest him as much as his works. A film about the impossibility of telling a story that, to this end, concentrates on the story of two people who have a relationship that is destined to fail.
