The Visitors

Les Visiteurs is about the disappearance of a team of six extraterrestrials coming to study Earth. The Empire of the Four Planets dispatch two police detectives to find them. They slip into two human bodies just as they are about to die, those of a Frenchman Jean-Louis and a German woman Renate, and resuscitate them so as to pursue their mission.

The War Is Over

Diego is one of the chiefs of the Spanish Communist Party. On his way from Madrid to Paris, he is arrested at the border for an ID check but manages to get free. When he arrives in Paris, he starts searching for one of his comrades to prevent him from going to Madrid where he could be arrested.

For financial reasons, an aspiring actor begins working for a phone-sex enterprise. Through his new line of work, he develops relationships with two regular clients: Bill, an elderly homosexual, and Amanda, a mysterious femme fatale.

The Water Spider

Bernard is in love with a water spider. He wants to replace his wife Catherine with the spider because she bores him. The spider transforms into a tarantula and later in a mysterious mute girl named Nadie. He falls in love with the girl/spider and finally he has to choose between his wife or the spider.

Spain, 1940s. While returning to Madrid by train, Paca, a chorus girl who aspires to join a prestigious company, meets Luis, a young man of helpless appearance.

Zita

Because "Tante Zita" main theme is death: a twenty-year old girl, Annie (Shimkus) lives with her mother and her aunt (both played by first-class actresses Suzanne Flon and Katina Paxinou). The auntie is dying, and for the first time in her life, Annie has to cope with death. One night, she finds it too hard to bear, and leaving home where the old woman is suffering, she begins to hang around in Paris. She will meet people, and, from dusk to dawn, she will learn to leave her childhood behind and to grow into a woman.

Summer Strolls

When a group of student actors travel to a workshop in Dordogne to put on a production of Shakespeare's As You Like It as a summer project, they are as lively and high-spirited a group as one could ask for. While they are there, the young man who has the leading role begins casting cow eyes at the director's wife (Valerie Stroh), and soon she and the boy are having an affair. By the end of the summer, the wife is sufficiently charmed to wonder how she could have gotten into this situation where she deeply loves both men.
