Biography
Karamana Janardanan Nair was one of the most famous Malayalam film actors during the 80s and 90s. He won wide acclaim, especially for the protagonist role in Adoor Gopalakrishnan’s Elippathayam. He is best remembered for his roles in Agnidevan (as Vasudeva Warrier) and Sphadikam (as Fr. Ottaplakkan). His last role was as Fr. Paulose in the movie FIR.

Mathilukal
Mathilukal ('Walls') is a free adaptation of the novelette of the same name, written by the celebrated Malayalam writer, Vaikom Muhammad Basheer. Autobiographical in character, it is set against the background of India’s freedom struggle in the ’40s when he was serving a term of imprisonment in the Trivandrum Central Jail. When the film opens, we see Basheer in a police lock-up, quite at home in the company of a few petty criminals. He has been languishing there for more than a year now without a trial.

His Highness Abdullah
The story follows Abdullah (Mohanlal) who is hired by the members of a wealthy royal family to assassinate the family head Maharaja Udayavarma (Nedumudi Venu). Abdullah comes into the royal palace under the disguise Ananthan Namboothiri, a classical singer, and tries to use this mask to softly kill the Maharaja.

Spadikam
Chacko master, a school headmaster, is never happy with his son, Thomas, and always degrades him. However, having had enough of him, Thomas runs away from home only to return as a gangster after long.

Mazhavilkavadi
Velayudham and his cousin Valli are in love since their childhood. Her father Shankarankutty hates Velayudham and looks for a groom for his daughter. One day, Velayudham and Valli try to elope but Shankarankutty finally capture them. Vexed by this misadventure, Velayudham leaves his village to Palani in order to find a job with the help of his friend Kunju Khader (Charle). Kunju Khader turns out to be a pickpocket.

Elippathayam
Unni is the last male heir of a decaying feudal family in rural Kerala. His inability to accept the socio-economic changes of a new society causes him to gradually withdraw into isolation and paranoia.

Kalikkalam
Mammootty plays the role of a burglar who is known by different names in different places.He is a kind person and uses the money burgled to help poor and orphans. During one of his burglaries, he happens to witness a murder for which a police officer named Shekharan is falsely accused. He helps Shekharan to prove his innocence.
