From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Lyle Wesley Waggoner (April 13, 1935 - March 17, 2020) was an American actor and former model, best known for his work on The Carol Burnett Show from 1967 to 1974 and for playing the role of Steve Trevor in the Wonder Woman television series from 1975 to 1979. Waggoner was also the first centerfold for Playgirl (albeit with limited nudity) in June 1973. The New Original Wonder Woman
After a dogfight with a German plane, U.S. Army Air Force pilot Steve Trevor crash lands on an uncharted island in the Bermuda Triangle. Paradise Island is inhabited only by women, and their existence has been kept a secret for thousands of years. Learning of the Nazi German threat to humanity, the Amazon princess Diana is chosen to accompany Trevor back to the United States to battle the Third Reich. Garbed in a skimpy red, white, and blue costume and armed with a magic lasso that forces anyone within its grasp to tell the truth, Diana uses her powers as Wonder Woman to battle the forces of evil.
The Return of Wonder Woman
Diana returned to Paradise Island after a 35 year absence and, slowly aging due to her Amazon nature. Once again, she returns to America as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman in 1977.
