In Profile and Full Face

The Life and Ascension of Yuras Bratchik
In ancient times of famine and Tatar raids, the satirist Yuras Bratchik appears to the people in the guise of Christ, and the people believe in a miracle. The cunning monk Bosyatsky decides to use this event. Arrested by order of the Cardinal, Yuras and his friends - "apostles", disguised and dressed in appropriate clothes, are brought to the people. The hungry people begin to beg for bread, and Yuras leads the crowd to the bins of the rich. Having escaped from the Cardinal, Yuras and his friends take refuge in a convent. With the help of the people they defeat both the attacking Tatars and the Cardinal's army.

Safe Person
Doctor Vera Pavlovna Zanemonets has recently been working at the Genetics Research Institute and is thinking about her dissertation. Her life is quite prosperous: her favorite job, family. One day, on an urgent call, Vera goes to her sister, who lives in the village and needs urgent surgery after an accident. But there is no surgeon in the village hospital, and Vera decides to urgently operate on her sister.

The Waiting Room
A 'runaway' homeless man, once a renowned athlete, finds himself marooned in the small, snow-covered town of Zarechensk. Victor lands a job at an orphanage, where he soon meets a young teacher who becomes both a compassionate friend and the love of his life. However, fate doesn't play out simply as good or bad; it unfolds in a way that makes the hero realize one cannot run away from oneself. Consequently, it is in Zarechensk that a train carrying a film crew from the capital, on their way back to Moscow, is compelled to delay their journey for a few days. Remarkably, Zarechensk becomes the place where a director finally discovers the perfect actress for his leading role and encounters a man who has fled from her love. Meanwhile, a producer makes the ultimate decision to select this town as the filming location for her upcoming movie.

The Cool Guy
Soviet engineer Viktor Loginov, who came to one of the East as a technical representative of the Minsk Automobile Plant, had to take part in an international rally due to the illness of a professional racer. Among the experienced aces from other countries, Victor was a beginner. Many representatives of foreign firms are interested in losing in the most difficult struggle. This would give an occasion to close the path to the world market for the new Soviet machine. But courage, mutual assistance and self-confidence help Victor overcome all stages of the most difficult path, where the danger came from both nature and people.

We Are Going to America
The familiar tale of an immigrant family's journey to America is turned into a magical mystery tour as seen through the eyes of 11-year old Motl. The boy's imagination spins wildly as he and his family--loaded down with all their worldly goods and their other-worldly "baggage"--make their way from the shtetl to America. Inspired by the paintings of Marc Chagall, director Efim Gribov interprets the workings of Motl's imagination via comic and grotesque figures, ghosts from the past, and a dreamy, surreal atmosphere. The film's tragi-comic tone and theme involving the American Dream make for an inspired viewing experience.

Ruiny strelyayut...
The plot centers on the people who began to form underground groups from the very first days of the occupation of Minsk: oil engineer Isa Kazinets, soldier Ivan Kabushkin, student journalist Vladimir Omelianuk, medical professor Yevgeny Klumov, party and Soviet worker Sergey Blagorazumov, and others. Their main weapon was their hatred of the occupiers. Soon, the underground fighters managed to establish contact with the partisans, and they began to plan joint operations.

Contract with Death
A talented surgeon becomes a target of various forces after inventing a new organs transplantation technique.
