Biography
S Manivannan Rajagopal or popularly known mononymously as Manivannan, was an Indian film actor and director. In a career spanning three decades, Manivannan went from being a story and dialogue writer for veteran director Bharathiraja from 1980–82 to a successful director who thrived in experimenting with different genres, before becoming an actor. With over 400 films to his name, Manivannan was one of the most experienced actors in the field and has directed exact 50 films.[4] Manivannan was mainly a supporting actor in films and often played the comedian or the villain's role. During his lifetime, he supported various political parties, including the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam and the Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam. He later became affiliated with the Naam Tamilar Katchi and had long supported its ideology of Sri Lankan Tamil nationalism.

Lovely starring Karthik Muthuraman and Malavika. Mahadevan(Manivannan) is a man who hates the very mention of the word 'love' and staunchly believes that his daughter Nivedha(Malavika) could - and should - never fall in love. But Nivedha is already in love with Chandru(Karthik). With his father becoming a business partner of Mahadevan and the rest of his family becoming friends with Nivedha's family, Chandru finds it easy to infiltrate Nivedha's home. Once there, he tries to impress Mahadevan while trying to prevent Mahadevan's friend from revealing his true identity as Nivedha's lover.

Sadhu Miranda
The movie starts of with a robbery of 20 crores in Pondicherry DID Bank where a college girl is killed by one of the thieves. The same night as the robbery, the manager of the bank (Manivannan) commits suicide.After this the story opens up in Chennai where Shiva Sundaram (Prasanna) a visible foolish person comes in search of David Raj (Manoj K. Jayan) where he saves a girl from being raped by one of David Raj's men.

Piriyadha Varam Vendum
Sanjay (Prashanth) and Nithi (Shalini) are best friends right from their childhood days. They are neighbours, have grown up together, attend the same college and spend every minute of their waking hours together. Both have their admirers in college with Sneha (Jomol) wooing Sanjay and Praveen (Krishna) revealing his love for Nithi. Nithi's week-long trip to Bangalore, along with some prodding by his housemaid, makes Sanjay realise how much he misses Nithi and that he is in love with her. But respect for their friendship and her makes him hide his feelings. Meanwhile, Nithi accepts Praveen's proposal and things quickly move towards their marriage. But when things come together Nithi realises that she cannot stay without Sanjay and at that time he reveals that he too loves her.

Kadhalar Dhinam
Two college students, the slum child Raja and the dean's daughter Roja, chat with each other over the Internet and fall in love. However, Roja is engaged and Raja cannot bear to disrespect her father, to whom he owes his livelihood.
