The First Days

A unique drama anthology series for our time, inspired by true events which happened in Kyiv in the first few weeks after the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. As the brutal war got underway, every second person left Kyiv. Yet every second person remained. These are their stories – variously moving, funny, sad, stark, unsettling, and uplifting.

Rocky Road to Berlin

The story of the novice musician Kuzma. Three days before the planned concert he goes with his friend Bard to Berlin for the old car "Pobeda". It is said that there is a collector ready to exchange the yellow beast for the Mercedes-Benz W140 (called as "Mers"). Kuzma promises his girlfriend Barbara to return home in a new car, and the guys from the band - to have time to perform. From the first minutes of the trip, of course, everything goes wrong. However, one thing is certain: the adventure will help the heroes find their true purpose.

The Best Weekend

A guy from Germany becomes a volunteer at the festival to make a female organizer fall in love with him but instead loses an elderly headliner of Atlas Weekend. Guys from Kryvyi Rig organize a legendary stag party but quarrel like children and fight like adults. A young girl from Odessa looks for her rocker dad who she hasn’t seen and instead constructed an ideal image of for 10 years. A career-climber from Lviv arrives for the most important interview in her life but her younger brother disrupts absolutely all of her plans. This is going to be the craziest trip of our characters and their Best Weekend!

Hide and Seek

In an ordinary looking apartment, a father and daughter play a game of hide-and-seek. While searching for his daughter, she is nowhere to be found... Later, a video is posted which shows the girl holding a sign with a mysterious set of numbers. But what do they mean? She’s the first of several children who disappear without a trace in a small industrial town. Young detectives Varta Naumova and Maksim Shumov take on the complex case and… their own demons. Varta is a distant person and extremely protective of her personal space, while Maksim comes across as an easy-going sociable guy. Both have experienced trauma in their lives, and this case touches them on a deeper level. They become personally vested in finding the children and apprehending the kidnapper as they face their respective pasts.
