Ali Konkouri

"Ali," who must become a doctor according to his mother's wishes, participates in the entrance exam year after year against his own will and fails each time. Eventually, he decides to find a way to escape this situation and marry his ideal girl. So, he pretends to be insane. Although this stops him from becoming a doctor, it leads to the girl's father opposing Ali's marriage. Feeling hopeless and exhausted, Ali eventually meets a woman who also catches his father's attention. The father uses various tricks to keep him away from home so that he can marry the woman himself.

Tranquility in the Presence of Others

A colonel, who has two daughters working as nurses in Tehran, retires to a small city. The man marries a teacher from the provinces and goes with her to Tehran. However, he finds that his daughters have changed. The elder daughter eventually commits suicide and the younger daughter goes through an ill-fated marriage. The father, observing the problems of his children, goes insane and is confined to an asylum. For its political and social content, the film was banned by the government for several years.

The Carriage Driver

A carriage driver who managed to become a taxi driver is in love with his sister-in-law. They were in love when they were young, but both married other people. Now that they are both widowed, they want to realize their dream and get married. The son of the sister-in-law is opposed to this marriage on principle, but he himself is in love with the carriage driver's daughter. The uncle and his nephew are going to challenge each other.
