Dato' Mustapha Azahari bin Maarof was a Malaysian actor. He appeared in Singapore’s Hang Tuah, 1957: Hati Malaya and Chermin, among many other films. Maarof won the Veterans' Award presented at the 10th Malaysian Film Festival.

Hang Tuah
Hang Tuah and his four sworn brothers, Hang Jebat, Hang Kasturi, Hang Lekir and Hang Lekiu, has pledged to protect the Sultan of Malacca. With their dedication, the five brothers rose quickly from the ranks, especially Hang Tuah whom has proven himself to be an able warrior and leader. When Hang Tuah managed to persuade Tun Teja to marry the Sultan of Malacca, the Sultan was overjoyed and rewarded Hang Tuah with full honours. The old guards felt threatened and envious, decided to frame him.

Paper Tiger
A somewhat prim and proper Englishman is hired as the tutor to the son of the Japanese ambassador. His life changes when he and the boy are kidnapped by terrorists for political purposes.

Matinya Seorang Patriot
Haji Saaban, the chairman of Melati Holdings, dies suddenly. His son Safuan suspects that the death has something to do with Melati Holding’s. He allows his brother, Saiful to avenge the death of their father. Saiful falls in love with the daughter of one of the board of directors and his desire for vengeance dissipates. Safuan feels that Saiful has betrayed the family and challenges him.

Lembing Awang Pulang Ke Dayang
This movie is related to an incident that occurred in Johor. It occurred in 1776 when a man called Awang returned to Parit Raja after more than 3 years abroad to marry his fiancee Dayang. Upon his return, he found out that another man called Bachok had told Dayang of Awang's death and planning to marry her the next day. Awang turned up at the wedding ceremony and using a spear given by Raja Bugis, he speared Bachok in the stomach. Bachok, fatally injured grabbed the spear in his stomach and speared his best man. The man then speared the next man he saw and this was repeated until the 99th person was speared. It was Dayang's father who was protecting Dayang. He did not continue the repeated spearing and died. Awang ran away to Endau and Dayang did not marry another till she died.

Bawang Putih Bawang Merah
The fairy tale is about two sisters, Bawang Merah and Bawang Putih. After their father dies, Bawang Merah and her mother, Labu, have to share the house with domineering Kundor and Bawang Putih. Bawang Merah has to endure more hardship when her mother dies. She is bullied, beaten and abused in every way imaginable by Kundor and Bawang Putih. As the tale goes, her mother eventually reappears – as a fish. Bawang Merah becomes happier and this puzzles both Kundor and Bawang Putih. Her ship comes in when a Prince hears her singing in the woods and marries her. Of course, Kundor is terribly unhappy that her brat, Bawang Putih, is married to none, let alone a prince. So she devises an evil scheme to destroy Bawang Merah’s marriage and get the prince to notice Bawang Putih.

Revenge of Pontianak
After the success of Pontianak, Balakrishna Narayana Rao (B. N. Rao) directed and released a sequel to his horror film – Dendam Pontianak. It came out in the same year as Pontianak, and Menado reprised her role in this sequel.

Si Murai
The festivities of Mior Sebatang comes to a halt when a group of cruel bandits led by the powerful Megat Hitam, robs and wipes out the village in a massacre. They take the village head’s daughter, Melor as hostage. The royal palace receives news of the tragedy and Prince Kelana defiantly leaves the palace with his aide to rescue his kidnapped fiancée. Hoping to protect her son, the queen devises a secret plan enlisting the help of her confidante Murai, who possesses mystical powers, to pursue and destroy the bandits ahead of Kelana. With the support of fellow warrior Kancil (played by Mat Sentol), Murai infiltrates the bandits’ hideout. Meanwhile, in his journey to gather firepower, Kelana and his aide discovers the world of other skilled pugilists and vigilantes.

Bicara Hati
The film depicts the lives of the students who will take the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM). A student named Gina was enamored with his own teacher. She is also less focus on education. The arrival of a new English teacher, Hadi managed to give new hope to the students of the school and eventually they passed with flying colors.

Naga Tasek Chini
Mayang raise by her aunt, Mak Tijah. Mak Tijah always ask Mayang to do hard work. But without Mayang own knowledge, she actually often assisted by spirits. Mayang then forced to marry a rich man Daud. When a struggle ensued between Mak Tijah and Mayang, they fell into the river. Mak Tijah drowned but Mayang was saved by spirits.

Tuah
A man dressed in ancient Malay Sultanate has saved Datuk Mohd Nor and his Sahira of criminals. Because the man was wounded in the shoulder, Datuk Mohd Nor bring it home. When the man was conscious, he introduced himself as Hang Tuah, Malay hero in the 15th century. Everyone believes that he has lost his memory, but Sahira began to believe the stories of Tuah.
