A Piece of My Heart

A child goes missing in a drama about child welfare workers and the effects of their work on the lives of these workers. Rita returns to her job in child protection after being furloughed during a police investigation. The child is still missing, and Rita is held responsible for the situation. She was replaced as manager by a new director, Jyrki. When she returns to work, Rita is paired with inexperienced Laura. Together, Rita and Laura become an effective team, but the boundaries between their work and private lives begin to blur.

ADULTS

Oona (20-something) runs a small coffee shop in the heart of hipsteresque Kallio district in Helsinki. Oona’s is not really the classic entrepreneur type: she’s often late to work and throws out customers she dislikes. She’s also constantly in a state of existential crisis over what she should become and whether she’s a somebody or just a nobody. Oona’s best friend is Arttu, a 25 y.o. gay artist-dj-creator-whatever. Together they hate, love, party and cry and try to become adults.

Jane, a small-town girl, has moved to Helsinki and the world is finally open for her. Passionate and excited, she seeks adventure, all the things she has yearned for so long. Jane gravitates to a gay bar at night, staggers in her nervous state of mind, and suddenly there, right next to her, Jane finds her savior: Piki, the most dashing butch in town. Piki is perfect. Jane is hypnotized by Piki's dark-toned voice. Piki offers her an entire new universe, and even more - dreams.
