1837: Another year of the grueling Caucasian war. A young officer, Grigory Pechorin, was sent into exile to the active army for participating in a duel. Here in the Caucasus, Pechorin will have to become an unwitting participant in rapidly unfolding events - a fight with smugglers, the abduction of a young Circassian princess, another duel. Moscow, 1952, mid-October, the XIX Congress of the CPSU had just ended. A communal apartment on Bolshaya Pirogovka. In one of the rooms lives the Petkevich family: Ariadna with her husband Boris and her parents, professor of philosophy Peter Kazimirovich and his wife Angelina Fyodorovna. For those few months that remained until Stalin's death, the family experiences a series of dramatic events. But on a background of terrible time, antisemitism, fabricated "case of doctors", denunciations and snitches, there are people who live their lives without losing dignity.

Stepbrothers Zhenya and Tyoma do not like each other, despite playing on the same hockey team and living under the same roof. Professor Maksim Muromtsev, also Tyoma's father, is working on a time machine. Finding themselves in his laboratory, the guys are accidentally transported to 1999, where they meet 12-year-old Vadim Shipachyov - a future star hockey player and Zhenya's main idol. Now the guys must have time to help Vadim believe in himself and follow his dream before they can return to the present to lead their team to victory.
