Pierre et le loup : Avec Jean Reno et Renaud Capuçon
For Peter and the Wolf, premiered in 1936, Prokofiev chose the form of a symphonic tale, featuring a narrator alongside the orchestra. A unique work in which each instrument embodies a character. Renaud Capuçon conducts the Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne, while Jean Reno takes on the role of narrator.

Conducted by French violinist Renaud Capuçon, the Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne performs music from the inter-war period. This evening is dedicated, among others, to Maurice Ravel (1875-1937), whose 150th birthday is being celebrated on 7 March 2025. With ‘Le Tombeau de Couperin’, the composer glorified the Grand Siècle while honouring the memory of his comrades who had fallen at the front.

Jean-Jacques Kantorow, who conducts the Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne, opens the evening with Camille Saint-Saëns's Symphony n° 2. Alexandre Kantorow then joins him to perform Johannes Brahms's Piano Concerto No. 2.

When he composed his motet ‘Exsultate jubilate’ K.165, Mozart was only 17 years old. He was then at the height of his fame. He was 35 when he wrote ‘The Magic Flute’ and died shortly afterwards. Dutch conductor Ton Koopman presents a programme that traces the stages of the composer's life. Russian soprano Julia Lezhneva performs the solo parts.
