In Tourtoirac, Périgord, Isabelle Maurin, newly crowned Queen of Araucania, is found decapitated in the château she had just inherited. Emma Lambert, a young police lieutenant from Bordeaux, joins Sacha Besson, a local gendarme, to investigate. Emma, a transgender woman, conceals that she is the daughter of Julie Dupuy, the village doctor and mayor, with whom relations soured after her transition. As more murders point to the contested legacy of the 19th-century Kingdom of Araucania, Emma and Sacha must navigate a tangle of hidden identities, buried secrets, and dangerous ambitions—while confronting their own growing attraction.

Swing

In a suburb of Strasbourg, Alsace, France, ten year old boy, Max, spends his summer vacation with his grandmother. He hears Manouche gypsy Romani music being played in a local bar, and loves it. He goes to visit the gypsies in search of a guitar, where he meets a young Romani tomboy, 'Swing'. She introduces Max to her gypsy community who live in caravans and down-at-heel public housing. Over several days, Max is taken into the community to witness Romani lifestyle, traditions, knowledge of plants, and particularly their Manouche music. Max is particularly fascinated by Miraldo, the Romani guitarist he first heard in the bar, and asks to take guitar lessons with him (Miraldo is played by one of the greatest guitarists of gypsy jazz, Tchavolo Schmitt).

Candice Renoir had put her career on standby for 10 years. When she returns from Singapore to resume service in a port town in the south of France, she feels a bit “rusty”. Despite the obvious defiance of her unit and a cynical superior who doesn’t make her job any easier, she is determined to turn her so-called weaknesses into strengths, solving the most complex cases with her common sense, her acute observation and her practical nature seasoned by a busy daily routine. Only Candice can catch a killer because she knows the chemical composition of a window-cleaning product or determine the hour of a murder from the cooking-time of kebabs… Candice is only naive on the outside, and nobody can resist her!

Thirty-something Bertrand is a seasonal worker on Pierre’s father’s farm. United by their shared passion of skateboarding, they look to one another for the strength to rebuild and assert themselves, and to try to face up to their impossible losses.
