Radio Stories

Three short stories based on radio competitions, all linked by speaker Gabriel and his fiancee. Two inventors who want to patent a piston and need money, a thief who answers a phone call while robbing and a child who needs to go to Sweden for an operation are the protagonists of these stories around the radio.

Don Lucio and Brother Pío

Brother Pío, intending to collect charity for a group of nuns who run an orphanage, travels to Madrid with a statue of the Baby Jesus. On the train ride there, he meets Lucio, a slick-talking small-time thief, who steals the statue from him in order to collect the donations for himself.

Amaya

The Gothic prince Ranimiro and his daughter Amaya have been taken prisoner by the Basques. He will be tried by the Council of Elders, while the Basque leader Íñigo, who arrested him, falls in love with his daughter Amaya, unaware that she is the current owner of the golden bracelet that symbolizes Basque tradition and that, according to legend, the man who marries her will be proclaimed king of Vasconia.

The Wheelchair

Don Anselmo, a retired old man, decides to buy a motorized disabled stroller since all his pensioner friends own one. His family strongly refuses him to purchase the vehicle, so don Anselmo decides to take extreme measures to achieve his goal…

Hyacinth, a former matador who lives miserably with his nephew Pepote, receives a letter reminding him that, as agreed a few days before, he must participate in a bullfight to be held that same afternoon.

¿Qué hacemos con los hijos?

The driver Antonio, boasts of his sons: John, who shares his work as a taxi driver, Luisa, ladies hairdresser, Antonito, studying to be a lawyer, and Paloma, to be a housewife. But Antonio does not know that their children are not exactly as he thinks. The day Antonio finds out, confronts his wife and children and suffers a big disappointment. Since then no one in the family speaks to Antonio, and he believes that it is best to let them see for themselves that they made a mistake, but this does not result, since each will see their problems increased.
