Phillip Lazaro started his career as a stand-up comedian at a comedy bar called The Library in Manila. Among the shows he starred in are "Villa Quintana" and "Anna Karenina." He was an assistant director for "Full House Tonight", "Bawal Na Game Show", "Nagbabagang Luha," and "Widow's Web".
