Biography
After graduating from high school, Rainer Bock ran a café in his hometown, which also had a cabaret programme. After studying acting at a private acting school in Kiel, he made his debut as a theater actor on the stages of the state capital of Kiel in 1982. He came to Heidelberg and the National Theater Mannheim via the Schleswig-Holstein State Theater. From 1995 to 2001 he had an engagement at the Staatstheater Stuttgart. Until 2011 he was engaged at the Bavarian State Theater in Munich. Bock often appears in supporting roles, including his initially rare appearances in film and television. Known For

Better Call Saul
Six years before Saul Goodman meets Walter White. We meet him when the man who will become Saul Goodman is known as Jimmy McGill, a small-time lawyer searching for his destiny, and, more immediately, hustling to make ends meet. Working alongside, and, often, against Jimmy, is “fixer” Mike Ehrmantraut. The series tracks Jimmy’s transformation into Saul Goodman, the man who puts “criminal” in “criminal lawyer".

Silent Friend
On the grounds of a medieval German university town looms an imposing Ginkgo biloba, a tree whose longevity stands in marked contrast to three intimate, human-scaled stories. In 1908, the university’s first female student gains admission into the prestigious botany department, confronting the sexism of both professors and peers. In 1972, amidst counterculture movements, a reserved student finds his attention captured by a fellow housemate and the geranium plant she studies. In 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, a neuroscientist from Hong Kong secures the help of a renowned botanist for an experiment on the old ginkgo tree.

Karla
Twelve-year-old Karla testifies in court. She makes serious accusations against her own father, who should have guaranteed her safety. Judge Lamy supports her in this difficult trial and becomes her most important confidant.

Inglourious Basterds
In Nazi-occupied France during World War II, a group of Jewish-American soldiers known as "The Basterds" are chosen specifically to spread fear throughout the Third Reich by scalping and brutally killing Nazis. The Basterds, lead by Lt. Aldo Raine soon cross paths with a French-Jewish teenage girl who runs a movie theater in Paris which is targeted by the soldiers.

Der König von Köln
A rather regular state official, who works at the building authority, becomes a puppet of a few super rich. They want to make quite a lot of profit from a planned large-scale building project. Quicker than anticipated, the father-to-be gets surprised by a couple of amenities and notices that life isn’t too bad in the sphere of these semi-legal affairs. Soon, however, he has a prosecuting attorney on his tails and has to decide himself for a side.

Dengler
Georg Dengler is a private investigator after his unpleasant departure from the BKA. His missions, which are often very politically explosive, take him to all areas of Germany and also to other European countries. His experience and connections from his time at the BKA benefit him, and he now mostly works with the people he previously had to hunt down. The series is a film adaptation of the Dengler novels by Wolfgang Schorlau and has been broadcast on ZDF since 2015. A characteristic feature of Schorlau's works is the criticism of social and political conditions; the films in the series are often based on true events, but the specific plot is fictitious.

Wilsberg
Georg Wilsberg is an antiquarian in Münster. He used to be a lawyer but lost his license. Since then he has been working as a private detective. The always clammy Wilsberg urgently needs this income. In addition, he depends on the support of his friends, especially because of the car.

Never Look Away
German artist Kurt Barnert has escaped East Germany and now lives in West Germany, but is tormented by his childhood under the Nazis and the GDR regime.
