Richard James Overy (FRHistS, FBA) is an award winning British historian who is the author of many histories of World War II and Nazi Germany. Educated at University of Cambridge, and a professor at University of Exeter, his reputation was enhanced with several works of scholarship, especially "Why the Allies Won" and "The Air War: 1939–1945".
