Palito Ortega recreates his own biography in this film. The most significant events in the singer's life and his personal struggle to achieve success are portrayed through the story of Martín Ríos. A humble boy from the countryside, born into a poor and large family in Tucumán, travels to the capital with the intention of becoming the most popular singer of his time. Despite adversity, Martín will not be deterred in his struggle to achieve success and love.

The plot involves the school director bringing in a female inspector to clean up the school. The real director meanwhile falls madly in lust with one of her male captors. Meanwhile a goody-good student and her hypocrite father begin to suspect the ruse . . .
