Spring Waltz

Emperor of the Sea

Emperor of the Sea is a South Korean television drama series directed by Kang Il-soo and Kang Byung-taek and starring Choi Soo-jong, Chae Shi-ra, Song Il-gook and Soo Ae. It aired on KBS2 from November 24, 2004 to May 25, 2005 on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 21:50 for 51 episodes. The historical drama is based on Choi In-ho's novel of the same title, which depicts the life of Jang Bogo, who rises from a lowly slave to a powerful maritime figure who dominated the East Asia seas and international trade during the Unified Silla Dynasty. The drama was received extremely well, holding the number one spot in the ratings for majority of the weeks it aired. It was also exported to eight countries earning approximately US$1.8 million in profits. The filming set in Wando County, South Jeolla Province also became a tourist attraction.

Thorn Flower

The Thorn Birds

The Thorn Birds is a 2011 South Korean television series where one woman forsakes her love and family for her ambition while another woman embraces with love all that the former had left behind. Fates of a bit part actress Seo Jung-eun and a film producer Han Yoo-kyung who chose success are intertwined and resolved gradually as their mutual stories progress. The "thorn birds" of the title refers to Jung-eun's character, who only brings out her best at the cost of great pain. A thornbird is a mythical bird who searches for a thorn tree from the day it is born. When it finds it, the bird impales itself upon the sharpest thorn, and rises above the agony to sing the most beautiful song ever heard.

Yaksha

Taming of the Heir

Invincible Lee Pyung Kang is a 2009 South Korean television series starring Nam Sang-mi and Ji Hyun-woo. In a modern retelling of the classic Korean folktale "Princess Pyeonggang and the Fool Ondal" in which a princess helps her timid husband transform into an outstanding general during the Three Kingdoms era, Lee Pyung-kang is a golf course planner who "tames" Woo On-dal, the prodigal son of a rich man. It aired on KBS2 from November 9 to December 29, 2009 on Mondays and Tuesdays at 21:55 for 16 episodes.
