Bless the Woman

Tiny Soviet village by the sea, in the years before the Second World War... A very young girl, Vera, falls madly in love with an older military officer who is visiting from out of town. She leaves her home and family to live with him in various military posts where he serves with the army. Through the difficulties of army life, and years of war, her love for this older man survives, and she gives herself completely without reservation. This film is about friendship, loss, survival, loyalty, and the wonderful gift of unconditional love, which is only given to a few.

Witness

A middle-class businessman is killed at his workplace in his office. The suspect - his business partner - Latunin was the last visitor and, according to the pretty witness of Vera's secretary, they had some kind of financial conflict with the murdered man. While the suspect is at large, the life of the only witness is in danger. And management instructs Igor to look after Vera, who turns out to be a sweet, charming, sexy woman. Igor's family relationships are going through a difficult period of divorce from his wife, so Igor rushes headlong into an unexpected bright and passionate "service" romance...

This detective story begins with an article in Ogonyok magazine about Soviet naval officers who were awarded the highest British award, the Order of the Star of the Sea, during World War II. After reading the article, the young heroine of the film named Olga, a resident of a small seaside town, realizes that one of these orders is kept on the mezzanine of her modest apartment, in a shoe box.
