Toon Hermans was a Dutch writer, singer and — together with Wim Sonneveld and Wim Kan — one of the 'Big Three' of Dutch cabaret. He was best know for his One Man Shows, many of which have been recorded.

Toon Hermans: One Man Show 1958
Dutch comedy icon Toon Hermans' second One Man Show was the first to be broadcast live on tv. The show caused a nationwide scramble of tv-sets, with millions of people tuning in. Featuring songs like 'Méditerranée', 'Ballonnetje' and the 'Kolderliedjes,' the show is seen as a landmark of Dutch television history.

Moutarde of Sonaansee
In his first and only venture into filmmaking, Dutch comedy icon Toon Hermans tells the story of Jeep Moutarde. Mr Moutarde's house is threatened by the owners of the Knik Knak sausage factory who want to tear it down and build a sausage factory in its place. Fortunately, the other villagers — including a French wine seller, the village priest and Moutarde’s new love Helen, an English biologist — want to help him.
